Martin Scorsese's Taxi Driver Starring Robert Deniro
WHAT I LOVED ABOUT TAXI DRIVER
I would like to tell you about my take to the movie without giving away even a grain of it's plot. It's just some points which will make you watch the movie.
A complete treat to the eye. All the reflections of the city lights on the windshield, the dark night everything captures the vibe of the city in an effortlessly realistic way, giving the viewer a simulating experience. The kind which teleports you into the world as seen through the eyes of a late night taxi driver.
The movie's visuals reminded me of my childhood, when my dad used to drive us home from family functions which usually went on till 2-3 at night.
The Visuals made me feel like the same drowsy kid looking at the city at night through the windshield.
The pace of the movie really makes you feel like you're experiencing the emotions in his mind yourself. And the soundtrack gives you eargasms. You don't feel attached to the character of Deniro, you feel like you've become him.
A true Direction masterpiece.
Even in the romantic phase of his life. The connection between him and Betsy seems so real. It's beautiful to watch.
Overall a classic. Movie that has influenced generations of directors to create magic through cameras. And only a handful of them have come close.
